IP Literature Watch: December 2019

Economists generally agree that innovation is important to economic growth and that government support for innovation is necessary. Of late, however, there has been a weakening of the US patent system, a decline in direct funding of research, and a weakening of tax policy tools used to encourage new innovation.
Also in this edition of IP Literature Watch, we question whether copyright should subsist in works created by artificial intelligence, and review recent Chinese court decisions on IP to explore their implicit consumer policy implications.
