Robert Cary

Senior Consultant to CRA

Robert Cary has more than 20 years of experience in the electricity industry and has been instrumental in the development and advancement of a number of Canadian provinces’ electricity markets.

Considered one of the foremost experts on the Ontario electricity market, Mr. Cary advises energy sector clients ranging from government agencies and system operators to electricity generators.  His practice has focused on market design, evolution and regulation, program design, contract negotiation, and operating strategies. He has provided expert witness services in connection with generation company dispute resolution.

Prior to founding his own consulting practice, Mr. Cary has held positions at Westcoast Power, AGRA Monenco, and Darchem Limited. He is a director of the Association of Power Producers of Ontario (APPrO), of St. Catharines Hydro Inc. & subsidiaries, and he is chair of Horizon Utilities Corporation, a municipally owned distributor to 230,000 customers.
